This collection was taken in and around Taichung.
These were the only photos I could take near the Qianyue building in Taichung. Over the years access to the building has been restricted due to safety concerns and developers attempting to renovate the upper floors. I’d highly recommend reading this article that talks more about the buildings history, the art collective that made the building so unique, and has a lot more photos of the art that was present on the upper levels I could not get access to.
This next set of photos were taken from the Rainbow Village. A brightly painted wonderland with a pretty interesting back story. The paintings were done by a gentleman named Huang Yung-Fu who was looking for ways to keep these old military housing complexes from being buldozed. This complex of maybe 4-6 buildings was once part of a larger complex of roughly 1,200 homes.
